The Sex Was Good Canadian Tour: Xana and Roman Clarke - Winnipeg, MB

On September 24, 2024, Xana brought her The Sex Was Good Canadian Tour to Winnipeg’s West End Cultural Centre, delivering a night filled with charisma, connection, and raw emotion. Winnipeg’s own Roman Clarke opened the evening with a soulful set solely on a keyboard, perfectly warming up the crowd with his blend of indie pop and R&B. His set took a humorous turn when a fan noticed his Doodlebob tattoo, asked about it, and proceeded to shout out, “Me hoy minoy,” quoting the iconic SpongeBob character. The reference left the audience in fits of laughter, showcasing the lighthearted atmosphere Roman helped create before Xana took the stage.

Xana’s performance was nothing short of electrifying. Kicking off with “Lip Service,” she immediately captivated the audience with her bold stage presence and infectious energy. The set was a journey through emotions and stories, as she seamlessly transitioned from anthemic tracks like “Sick Joke” and “BODY” to more introspective moments with “baby blue” and “earth eyes.” Her ability to connect with the audience was undeniable, especially during “The Sex Was Good!” which had everyone singing along to its cheeky chorus.

A special moment unfolded during her set when Xana spotted two fans in the front row who had travelled from the United States. She explained that these two fans got engaged at one of her American shows earlier on this tour, which added a touch of magic and sentimentality to the night. Another intimate highlight was her acoustic rendition of “Cocaine,” a new song that showcased her vocal prowess and emotional depth.

Xana’s set was a perfect mix of powerful bangers and tender ballads, punctuated by her infectious personality and genuine interactions with the crowd. She closed the night with “The Sex Was Good!” leaving the audience buzzing with excitement. Xana has a knack for creating an environment where fans can let loose and feel seen, making her Winnipeg stop a truly memorable one.
