Owen Riegling took the stage as the night’s headliner, captivating the audience with his honest lyrics and soulful delivery. Starting with “A Part Of Me,” he immediately set a reflective tone that carried through his set. “Moonshines” and “Bud” were fan favourites, their relatability drawing cheers and sing-alongs.
Riegling’s stripped-down moments were especially impactful. Performing two unreleased songs acoustically, he created an intimate connection with the crowd. His piano-driven rendition of “Weekend You,” seamlessly blending into Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” was a beautiful surprise and a testament to his creativity. Another acoustic gem, “Love,” showcased his vulnerability and raw talent. As the night progressed, Riegling brought out covers like Noah Kahan's “Dial Drunk” and Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare),” infusing them with his unique country flair. He closed his set with more fan-favourites “Home Less” and “In My Head Again,” but the crowd’s immense energy demanded an encore.
Returning to the stage with the soulful “Whatever It Is” and the nostalgic tour title track “Old Dirt Roads,” Riegling ended the evening on a high note. His ability to balance introspection with anthemic moments proved why he’s quickly becoming a force in the country music scene. The Old Dirt Road Trip at The Park Theatre was a night of storytelling, emotional depth, and pure talent. Riley Taylor laid a strong foundation, Sacha brought high-energy fun, and Owen Riegling delivered a masterful performance that left the audience both satisfied and yearning for more. Winnipeg was treated to a night of music that celebrated the past, present, and future of country. If this tour rolls through your town, it’s not to be missed.
