Seven Kingdoms, Lutharo, and Osyron Live In Winnipeg, MB

Winnipeg’s music scene had a historic night on November 28, 2024, as metalheads gathered at the city’s newest venue, Sidestage, for a show that proved to be both nostalgic and electrifying. Seven Kingdoms, making their triumphant return to Winnipeg for the first time since 2010, were joined by Canadian metal powerhouses Lutharo and Osyron. The intimate yet vibrant atmosphere of Sidestage was the perfect setting for a night of pure metal bliss.

The evening began with Calgary-based progressive metallers Osyron, whose intricate soundscapes and commanding stage presence immediately captured the audience’s attention. Their blend of symphonic, progressive, and traditional metal elements set a dynamic tone for the evening. The crowd was taken by their several-song set, which showcased their technical prowess and emotive storytelling.

Lutharo, hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, stormed the stage with unparalleled energy, solidifying their status as one of Canada’s fiercest melodic death metal acts. Their setlist was a thrilling mix of aggression and melody, with vocalist Krista Shipperbottom delivering a jaw-dropping performance, her growls and cleans resonating with fiery intensity.

The anthemic "Ruthless Bloodline" set the crowd ablaze, while "Wings of Agony" had fans headbanging in unison. The band’s versatility shone on “Paradise or Parasite,” blending intricate guitar solos with soaring vocals. The highlight, however, was the exhilarating "Born to Ride," which saw the audience chanting along with unbridled enthusiasm. Lutharo’s synergy and passion were undeniable, leaving fans electrified and hungry for more.

When Seven Kingdoms took the stage, the anticipation in the room was palpable. It had been fourteen years since their last visit to Winnipeg, and their return was nothing short of spectacular. Frontwoman Sabrina Valentine’s soaring vocals were a masterclass in power metal excellence, effortlessly cutting through the band's thunderous instrumentation.

Opening with the dynamic “After The Fall,” the band immediately had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Fan favourites like “The Fire Is Mine” and “Magic In The Mist” were met with fervent cheers, while newer tracks like “Wilted Pieces” and “Valonqar” showcased the band’s continued evolution and songwriting prowess.

The set reached a fever pitch with "Diamond Handed," a track that encapsulated the band’s energy and technical precision, featuring intricate guitar work from Camden Cruz and Kevin Byrd. Closing with the hauntingly epic “In The Walls,” Seven Kingdoms left no doubt that their Winnipeg return was worth the wait.
