Official Press Release:
Scene Queen has released her newest single "Pretty In Pink" and announced her signing to Hopeless Records. Fans can stream "Pretty In Pink" at THIS link. "Pretty In Pink" marks the transition for Scene Queen from an artist finding their way, to a bonafide star in the making. With a sound and vision to match the eccentricity of her ideas, Hannah Collins (aka Scene Queen) has developed a distinct brand for her music combining hyper femininity with heavy riffs and vicious lyrics. Collins states on this release, "I wanted a song to highlight the pressure society puts on women and how much it affects our mental health and how we view ourselves. For the longest period of my life, I felt like in order to be successful in music I had to take up less space. I had to be softer, smaller, more likable. This song was written when I had fully succumbed to those pressures and my mental health was at its lowest. I spent every day just trying to smile and look pretty. I felt like nobody would understand the pain I felt until it was too late. The release of this song and video is me finally breaking out of that headspace and the start of what I hope to be an extremely empowering era for women in rock."
After years of working in other genres, Hannah Collins knew it was time she released a track for the emo scene she loved so much. As Scene Queen, the 23-year-old took to TikTok to introduce her debut track, where it got a lot of support. Though "Are You Tired?" found its way to No. 2 on the iTunes rock charts after the song's release. Scene Queen is the epitome of the new emo scene. A new scene where everyone is welcome. Her music shows the cracks in society and breaks down the walls we put up every day. To show that although this new scene may look different, we are all pink on the inside. Scene Queen makes emo songs for emotional people.
