On Thursday, September 12th, Tori Kelly brought her Purple Skies Tour to the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. It was the first night of the U.S. leg of her tour. Tori began her world tour on April 12, 2024, which made her way through the Western U.S., before performing across Western Canada for the first time. She began her Asia leg of the world tour on August 17th in Taiwan and the tour is scheduled to end on December 9th in England. She was supported by Maisy Kay who will be joining Kelly on the remainder of the tour.
Maisy hit the stage and got the crowd ready for the night. She has great stage presence and voice. Maisy sang a cover of Katy Perry’s "I Kissed A Girl," which had the audience singing and dancing along, fans loved it. Maisy’s set was really good.
The lights dimmed and it was time for Tori to perform. Fans immediately began chanting her name and they continued to throughout her entire set. She performed songs from her new album, TORI, as well as a couple throwback songs from her first records like "Dear No One," "Paper Hearts," and "Should Have Been Us." She also played the guitar during those songs.
Tori surprised fans by performing her brand new song "Distance," which fans absolutely loved. While she was singing her song "Cut," before it ended, she mixed in a cover of "Say My Name" by Destiny’s Child and fans went wild. Tori danced effortlessly throughout the show, it was really good. She closed out her set with "Alive If I Die’ and fans began chanting her name for more. Tori came back out and sang the "Missin U" R&B edit for the encore.
I can easily say this was the best concert I have seen all year. Nothing compares to Tori Kelly’s incredible voice and energy. You can see how genuinely happy she is and how much fun she's having when she gets to perform. That energy is infectious and everybody in the room can feel it making it an amazing show. She's easily the best performer of her generation.
If you can, don’t miss the chance to see Tori Kelly perform on her Purple Skies Tour.
