Turnover followed, taking the stage with a laid-back, groovy vibe that had the crowd swaying and singing along to every word. Opening with “Tears of Change,” the Virginia Beach band showcased their evolution from punk roots to a more mellow, synth-laden sound. Highlights of the set included fan favourites like “Super Natural” and “Dizzy on the Comedown,” with frontman Austin Getz’s vocals resonating deeply through the Park Theatre. Their set flowed seamlessly, with the crowd fully immersed in the atmospheric tracks like “Mountains Made of Clouds” and “Humblest Pleasures.” Turnover’s ability to create a tranquil, almost hypnotic atmosphere was a standout aspect of their performance, setting a distinctive tone for the night.

Finally, Movements took the stage to a roaring crowd, launching straight into “You’re One Of Us Now” with an intense energy that held throughout their entire set. Frontman Patrick Miranda’s dynamic stage presence brought the emotional weight of their songs to life, especially on tracks like “Skin To Skin” and “Afraid To Die.” Fans sang along passionately to “Colorblind” and “Daylily,” some of the band’s most beloved tracks, which elicited the night’s loudest cheers. Movements demonstrated impressive versatility, seamlessly shifting from aggressive, angst-ridden songs like “I Hope You Choke!” to more introspective tracks like “Seneca.” The crowd hung on every word as Miranda poured his heart into “Deep Red,” and the night ended on a powerful note with “Daylily,” leaving the audience buzzing long after the band left the stage.
The show was a memorable night for Winnipeg’s alt-rock fans, showcasing three bands at different points in their musical journeys. Movements proved that the wait was worth it, delivering a performance that solidified their status as one of the most emotionally resonant bands in the scene today. With stellar support from Turnover and Queen of Jeans, the trio's Fall 2024 North American Tour was an unforgettable evening that will be etched in the memories of those lucky enough to experience it.
