The night commenced with singer-songwriter Ali Fontaine taking the stage, delivering a soulful set that resonated deeply with attendees. Her emotive vocals and poignant lyrics further enriched the night's musical journey, building anticipation for the main act.
Following Ali Fontaine, Burnstick, the JUNO-nominated husband-and-wife folk duo known for their evocative storytelling and harmonious vocals, took the stage for a short set. Their performance, characterized by the unique sounds of the century-old Weissenborn guitar, captivated the audience and set a heartfelt tone for the evening.

As the lights dimmed, Jade Turner emerged to enthusiastic applause. A member of the Misipawistik Cree Nation, Turner has been celebrated for her authentic storytelling and dynamic vocal range. The concert marked her first headlining performance, and she embraced the moment with palpable excitement.
Turner's setlist featured tracks from Breathe, her third studio album, which delves into personal narratives of motherhood, self-discovery, and resilience. Songs like "You're Only Nice When I'm Leaving" showcased her ability to convey raw emotion, while "Deadweight," a collaboration with Crystal Shawanda, confronted themes of bullying with defiant energy.
The title track, "Breathe," co-written with Rhianna Rae Saj and Sebastian Gaskin, was a standout moment. The song's blend of R&B and Americana elements mirrored the complexities of anxiety, culminating in a powerful and cathartic performance. However, it was during the performance of "Slow Dance" that stole the spotlight. Unfortunately, Ryan Langlois who duets on the song was unable to make the show, but in his absence, fellow country artist Don Amero took to the stage to sing the duet with Turner.

Throughout the evening, Turner's stage presence was both commanding and inviting. She shared personal anecdotes between songs, creating an intimate atmosphere that resonated with the audience. Her outfit changes and thoughtfully designed stage props added a visual flair to the performance, reflecting her dedication to providing a memorable experience.
The concert also featured a few pop-up vendors in the lobby, including Mashkiki Garden Creations, Anishinaabe Girl Designs, and Sunshine House, fostering a sense of community and celebration of Indigenous artistry.
In her Breathe album release show, Jade Turner not only showcased her musical evolution but also created a space for shared stories and collective reflection. The evening was a testament to her artistry and the power of music to connect and heal.
