Chase Atlantic - LOST IN HEAVEN

Album artwork for the brand new album, LOST IN HEAVEN, from Chase Atlantic.

Chase Atlantic’s latest album, LOST IN HEAVEN, is an atmospheric, genre-blending tour de force that captures the trio’s signature intensity while pushing into some fresh territory. Scheduled to be released on November 1, 2024, via Fearless Records, the album showcases Mitchel Cave, Clinton Cave, and Christian Anthony at their most versatile, blending woozy trap, R&B, and psychedelically spun alternative rock into a hypnotic soundscape that feels both darkly introspective and wildly indulgent. Chase Atlantic’s penchant for mixing sensual melodies with darker thematic undertones reaches new heights here, resulting in a record that feels both immersive and arresting.

The album opens with “FAVELA,” a seductive introduction that sets the tone for LOST IN HEAVEN’s lush, shadowy ambiance. Building on this, the lead single “DIE FOR ME” has become an instant fan favourite, racking up millions of streams and embodying the band’s allure for wild, passionate romance. It’s a bold, Bonnie and Clyde-esque anthem with shimmering production and a haunting hook that refuses to let go. This track, along with “RICOCHET,” encapsulates the album’s themes of self-destruction and longing, inviting listeners to grapple with intense emotional turbulence underscored by haunting synths and pulsating beats.

“RICOCHET” dives headfirst into the psyche of someone teetering on the edge, fusing layered synths with ethereal dual vocals to evoke a sense of chaotic allure. The track’s cinematic feel heightens its exploration of addiction, missteps, and the fleeting highs that inevitably lead to emotional crashes. There’s a constant pull between light and dark across LOST IN HEAVEN, especially evident in “DEMON TIME” and “NIGHT CALLS,” where hypnotic production backs lyrics that dig into self-reflection and hidden desires.

In “DISCONNECTED” and “HOURS LOST,” Chase Atlantic deftly weaves pop, R&B, and rock elements, creating atmospheres that feel as sprawling as they are intimate. These tracks contrast throbbing, nocturnal beats with vulnerable lyrics, allowing the listener a glimpse into the trio’s thoughts on isolation and the passing of time. “MESS ME UP” channels this further, blending catchy melodies with an emotive core, making it one of the most introspective tracks on the album.

“DOUBT IT” stands out as a late highlight, pushing the boundaries of Chase Atlantic’s sound with its addictive hooks and fearless experimentation. It’s followed by “MAMACITA” and “DON’T LAUGH,” tracks that maintain the album’s edgy appeal while leaning into the darker, synth-heavy production style that has become their trademark. The album closes on a hazy yet powerful note, leaving listeners with a sense of lingering unease — a fitting end to a project that feels like a midnight confession, raw and unapologetic.

With LOST IN HEAVEN, Chase Atlantic continues their streak of blurring genre lines, merging Gen Z-inspired pop with the allure of nocturnal R&B and edgy alt-rock. The album is a testament to their growth and refusal to be confined by musical norms, reaffirming why they are beloved across diverse music scenes. With each track, Chase Atlantic invites fans to lose themselves in a world that feels both intoxicatingly familiar and strikingly new — a sonic heaven where passion, pain, and pleasure coexist in haunting harmony.
