Singer-songwriter charlieonnafriday released his second album, WILD CHILD, on August 22nd. The album consists of a 16-song tracklist which includes his singles "Bottle Go Down" and "Warning Shot."

He began his first-ever headlining tour recently, with the US leg starting on August 18th in Chicago and ended on September 13th in Los Angeles. He started his European leg on September 30th in Dublin and closed it out on October 7th in Berlin.

What inspired you to write this album?

Charlie: This album, some of the songs are two years old, and some we wrapped a month ago. I think any human being is going to go through a lot of highs and lows over a two-year span no matter who you are. I wrote these songs in different periods of my life and in different head spaces. Whatever was going on at the time we wrote about. Whether I was upset about something or we were in the club poppin' bottles in Nashville. There's those records, there’s sad records. I think that whatever we were doing we were writing about it. I think that's important to staying authentic. Will there be any special guest joining you on tour?

Charlie: Yeah, we have Vwillz. He's an artist from Nashville. He’s opening on the tour, super talented dude. I got all my boys on the road with me, that's a different show in itself. It’s a good time. What was it like opening for artists like Tate McRae and Macklemore?

Charlie: I think when you're on tour with other artists and opening for them, it's a super incredible opportunity to watch someone like Tate or Macklemore perform 30 times. Someone who's so dialed in on the art of performing live. You always take something away from each tour depending on who it is. I think Macklemore is one of the greatest performers ever in my opinion. Dude is just incredible. Just learning from him and seeing how he navigates an area filled with 20 thousand people and is able to command the room with that many people. It's a great learning experience for me to become better. What are your favorite things about your fans?

Charlie: They are rowdy, very rowdy. In Nashville, a dude poured about 4 Bud Lights on his head throughout the set. I love the vibe they have, they want to party and have fun.

What songs on this album are you most looking forward to playing live?

Charlie: The first song on the album, it's called "81 Camino." I think it's going to be a really crazy live song once the fans know it.

What city are you looking forward to most to perform in?

Charlie: I like Denver a lot, we did a lot of frat shows in Boulder and those were always crazy. I think the energy in Denver will have a similar vibe.

What do you have to say to fans who have been with you since day 1?

Charlie: I appreciate them, I love them to death. They are the reason any of this is possible. When I see a fan at a show and they are like yo play this song and it's a super, super old song it's like a different feeling like oh you know about that. It's super cool. It's also my first headline tour three years later. Maybe they saw me open for someone but this is really the first chance for everyone to get in a room. Maybe you heard my music a couple of months ago or you heard it three years ago. It's crazy but I appreciate them a lot. Do you have any artists you're dying to work with?

Charlie: I think my one dream collab for me will always be Post Malone. He’s been my favorite artist for a long time.
