BRKN LOVE - The Program

With The Program, BRKN LOVE tears up their own blueprint and rebuilds themselves from the ground up—louder, bolder, and with swagger to spare. On their third full-length studio release, set for public consumption on March 28, 2025, via Spinefarm Records, frontman Justin Benlolo and company crank the amps, loosen the restraints, and deliver a twelve-song collection that sounds like pure liberation. It’s rock ‘n’ roll in its most visceral form: honest, gritty, catchy as hell, and injected with a fresh dose of soul and playfulness.

From the opening moments of “20/20 Vision”—a roaring, bass-driven banger co-written with Queens of the Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman—you know BRKN LOVE are playing for keeps. That riff alone could fill an arena, and the chorus feels both familiar and timeless, capturing the tension between nostalgia and forward motion. It’s not just a highlight of the album; it’s a mission statement.

The beauty of The Program is that it never settles into one lane. On “Diamonds,” the band infuses their core rock sound with touches of R&B and soul influences, showing off their ability to evolve without losing their identity. The groove is undeniable, and the message—that greatness lies within, if we’d only stop holding ourselves back—lands with an empowering punch.

“Unholy” and “Callous” dive into darker, more vulnerable territory, with Justin laying his flaws bare for all. Whether he’s lamenting self-sabotage or bracing for an emotional breakdown, the melodies remain big and infectious, giving weight to the confessions. And then there's the track, “Cruel,” where shimmering beats and woozy vocal lines collide into one of the catchiest choruses BRKN LOVE has ever crafted. The imagery is vivid—a broken romance unfolding on Hollywood and Highland—but the emotion is universal.

The album’s midsection sees the band stretch their creative muscles even further. “Pulling Leeches” is raw, dirty, and bluesy in the best way—recorded in one take at Foo Fighters’ legendary Studio 606, it buzzes with live-wire energy and gritty defiance. Tracks like “12 Wings” and “Wisdom Teeth” balance that raw power with clever lyrical touches and massive hooks that will have crowds shouting along once the band gets to tour this new material.

And when you think they’ve exhausted all their tricks, BRKN LOVE delivers the tune, “Shades of You”—a spiritual sequel to the fan-favourite, “Like A Drug.” It’s pure rock ‘n’ roll euphoria, complete with shredding solos and an adrenaline rush of a double-time outro. With the album's penultimate track, "Break The Same," the band delivers one final trick, taking on a full-blown pop-rock anthem in the vein of Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll era. Whereas, the closing track “Shiver” is the perfect bookend: cathartic, soaring, and full of resolve. It’s the sound of letting go, of finally standing tall, and it leaves you wanting to hit the repeat button.

Producer Anton DeLost (Saint Asonia, The Warning, Highly Suspect) once again proves to be the ideal collaborator, capturing the band’s energy without polishing away the grit. Every riff is punchy, every chorus explodes, and every track feels alive.

Ultimately, The Program is BRKN LOVE’s most confident and freewheeling album yet—a record that shrugs off genre expectations and embraces pure instinct. It’s the sound of a band finding their truest voice, and inviting you to turn it up, get lost in it, and feel a little freer yourself.
